There are a lot of ways to use Gimp to draw. You can use it to create illustrations, logos, and even 3D models. But there is one way that is especially helpful for drawing portraits: Gimp can help you draw your own faces. To start, open Gimp and select the “File” menu and choose “Open with…”. Then select “GIMP” from the list and click on it. When the file opens, you will see a screen that looks like this: The first thing you need to do is decide how you want your portrait drawn. You can either choose to have the person’s head be the only part of the image or you can include other parts of their body as well. Once you have decided on how you want your portrait drawn, next step is to choose how many layers you want to use in order to create it. You can either have one layer for each person or you could have multiple layers for a more complex image. Once you have chosen how many layers and how many colors you want in your image, click on “Create”: Now that your portrait has been created, it is time to test it out by clicking on it in a document and seeing what happens: You will see that Gimp creates an image that looks like this:
