Xbox One controllers are designed to be used as either a left or right hand controller. To change the controller to Player 1, you will need to remove the battery and unscrew the four screws on the back of the controller. Once these screws are removed, you will need to remove the two joysticks and place them on either side of the new player 1 controller. Now screw back in the four screws and reattach the battery.
