Broiler pan cleaning is a necessary task for any cook, but especially for those who use a broiler pan. Cleaning a broiler pan can help prevent the pan from becoming dirty and it can also help to keep the pan clean and free of bacteria.
- Remove all food from the broiler pan. This includes any cooked food that has been placed in the pan, as well as any crumbs or debris that may have been left in the pan after cooking.
- Pour water into the bottom of the broiler pan and stir to combine. Add enough water to cover the bottom of the Broiler Pan by at least 2-3 inches.
- Place the Broiler Pan in a preheated oven on medium-high heat and wait until it begins to heat up (about 10 minutes). Once it begins to heat up, place your hand on top of the Broiler Pan and use your other hand to push down on top of everything so that all of the water is forced into and around everything inside of the Broiler Pan. Be sure not to move anything until all of the water has been forced into and around everything inside of the Broiler Pan (about 5 minutes).
- Once all of the water has been forced into and around everything inside of the Broiler Pan, remove everything from inside of it using a slotted spoon or tongs (carefully). Be sure not to damage or remove any parts of either item that are still in contact with hot oil or gas!
- Carefully pour out all of what was in your Broiling Pan using a colander or strainer (if there are any large pieces left in there). Make sure not to leave any liquid behind – this will cause bacteria growth and will need to be cleaned again later on when cooking food again in this same oven!
