If you’re like most clarinetists, you probably clean your mouthpiece at least once a week. But how do you go about cleaning it? Here are four tips:
- Use a soft cloth or a toothbrush to clean the surface of the mouthpiece. Make sure to get into all the nooks and crannies.
- If the mouthpiece is made of metal, use a brass brush to remove any tarnish or corrosion. Be careful not to scratch the surface!
- If the mouthpiece is made of plastic, use a soft cloth and soap to clean it. Be sure to rinse it off thoroughly before putting it back in your clarinet.
- If you don’t have any other way to clean your mouthpiece, you can use a mild dishwashing detergent and water to wipe it down. Just be sure to rinse it off thoroughly before putting it back in your clarinet ..
