If your heat pump is not working, it’s important to clean it before you try to fix it. Here are four steps to cleaning a heat pump:

  1. Turn off the power to the unit.
  2. Open all of the windows and doors to allow fresh air in.
  3. Remove all of the insulation from around the unit’s coils and fan(s).
