If you have a soffit vent, it’s important to clean it regularly. This will help keep the vent clean and free of dirt, dust, and other debris that can cause problems down the road. To clean the soffit vent:

  1. Open the vents by removing one screw at a time. Be careful not to damage the plastic coverings on either side of the vents.
  2. Use a vacuum cleaner with low suction to suck all of the dirt and debris out of the vents. Be sure to empty any crevices that may have been created by your fingers while cleaning.
  3. Rinse off any excess cleaning solution and dry off the vents before re-installing them in place.
