If you’re ever going to have to clean spark plugs, it’s a good idea to do it in a way that doesn’t involve taking them out of the engine. Here are three ways to clean spark plugs without removing them:

  1. Use a plunger. Push the plunger up and down on the plug until it pops out. This will push all of the dirt and oil out of the plug.
  2. Use a vacuum cleaner with the hose attachment. Put the vacuum cleaner tube over one end of the sparkplug and turn it on. The suction will pull all of the dirt and oil out of the plug.
  3. Use a wire brush with water or soap solution mixed in it. Splash some water onto the brush and use it to scrub away at all of the dirt and oil that has built up on top of theplug
