If you are using Android devices, then you are likely familiar with the memory management system RAM. RAM is a volatile memory block that can be used by applications to store data. When an application requests access to a memory block, the system allocates the space in RAM for that block and returns it to the application. When an Android device starts up, it initializes its RAM and sets aside some space for user data. This space is known as the user’s ramdisk. The user’s ramdisk stores applications and their associated data inRAM while the device is running. When an Android device shuts down, all of this user data is unloaded from RAM and moved into the user’s sdcard where it can be accessed by any app without having to worry about how much or how little ram remains in ROM. To clear out any Ram Memory on your Android device, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open a command prompt or terminal window and type “ram clear” at the command prompt. This will erase all of yourram from your android device. If you have multiple devices with different ram sizes, you will need to use different commands depending on which size of ram your devices have (e.g., if you have 4gb of ram on one device and 8gb on another, use “ram clear -8g” while on another device with 4gb of ram).
  2. Reboot your android device if it has been idle for a while (this should clear out any residual Ram Memory). If there was still some Ram Memory left after rebooting, then follow step 1 above but type “ram set” at the command prompt to set back up your current settings includingRam Size (if different than what was used whenRAM cleared).
  3. If you have any questions or concerns about how this process works or if there may be any other issues that arose after clearing Ram Memory on your Android devices, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support
