If you’re like most people, you probably have a lot of pictures and videos on your computer that you’ve never seen or used. You may also have a lot of scratch disks and Photoshop caches that are still unused. To clear the scratch disk and Photoshop cache on your computer, follow these steps:
- Start by opening the Windows Task Manager. This will show all the active processes on your computer.
- To clear the scratch disk, click on the blue arrow next to the process called “Scratch Disk”. This will take you to a list of files that have been created by that process. Click on each file to see how it is stored in memory. If any of these files are used frequently or if they are in an unused location, then they will be marked as “unused” and will be deleted from memory.
- To clear the Photoshop cache, click on the blue arrow next to the process called " Photoshop Cache". This will take you to a list of files that have been created by that process.
