If your car window is making a lot of noise, there are a few things you can do to fix it. Here are four tips:
- Check the seal around the window frame. This is where the window meets the door. If there’s a gap, wind noise will be able to get in and make the window sound noisy. Try to clean this area and apply a sealant if needed.
- Make sure the window is properly installed on the door. If it’s not, wind noise will be able to get in and make the window sound noisy. Check that all of the screws are tight and that there’s no space between the door and window frame where air can flow freely.
- Clean out any debris or dust that may be blocking air flow through the window regulator or motor assembly. This can cause windows to squeak when they’re opened or closed. Use a vacuum cleaner with a crevice tool attachment if necessary, or try using compressed air to remove dust particles from inside of the regulator or motor assembly (be careful not to damage them).
- Check for loose parts inside of your car windows that could be causing them to make noise when they’re opened and closed: hinges, latches, rollers, etcetera ..
