Xbox 360 controllers are notorious for their sticky buttons. If you’re not careful, you can end up with a lot of trouble when trying to use your controller in the future. Here’s how to fix sticky buttons on your Xbox 360 controller:
- Start by cleaning the button area with a mild soap and water. This will help remove any built-up dirt and dust that may have collected on the button area over time.
- Next, use a hairdryer to heat up the button area until it becomes warm enough to work with. Be sure to hold the button down until it starts to heat up before starting to work on it, as hot buttons can be difficult to work with properly.
- Once the button area is warm, start by using a plunger or other object of similar size to push and pull at the button area until it pops off of its plastic housing. Be sure not to damage or remove any of the electronics inside of the button housing!
- Once all of the buttons have been removed, reattach them using some type of adhesive tape or screws if needed (be sure not to damage any components inside of the controller).
