Rooting is the process of removing the protection that Android provides on your device, so that you can access the internals of your phone and allow third-party developers to build custom applications. This can give you access to features that are not available to normal users, and can also allow you to root your device in order to gain access to more sensitive information or even root it in order to take control of it completely. There are a few things that you need in order to root your Android phone: an unlocked bootloader (which is the part of your phone that allows it to be rooted), a recovery image (which is a file that helps fix problems with your device), and some technical knowledge.
