If you’re like most people, you hate ticks. They’re creepy, they’re gross, and they’re just plain annoying. But did you know that ticks can also be dangerous? Ticks can spread diseases like Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. They can also cause serious allergic reactions in some people. And worst of all, they can bite humans and transmit diseases through their saliva. So how do you kill ticks in a car? Here are four tips:
- Use a tick remover: If you see a tick on yourself or someone else, use a tick remover to remove it safely and quickly. There are many different types of removers available, so find one that works best for you. Some removers use heat or chemicals to kill the tick; others use suction to pull the tick off the skin.
- Use a vacuum cleaner: If you see a large number of ticks on the ground or inside your car, try using a vacuum cleaner to suck them up and remove them safely. Be sure to use the appropriate attachments (like an attachment designed for removing ticks) and avoid touching the suction tube with your hands or feet; this could cause an allergic reaction.
- Use DEET: If all else fails and you still see ticks on yourself or someone else, apply DEET (diethyl ether) cream to your skin liberally and wait 10 minutes before washing it off with soap and water. DEET is effective against both human-sized and small ticks; however, it may not be effective against some types of mosquitoes (like Aedes Aegypti), so be sure to read the product label carefully before using it in this way.
- Avoid being bitten: The best way to avoid getting bitten by ticks is simply not to go outside in Tick Country! Instead, stay inside where it’s warm and safe – preferably wearing long pants ..
