If you’re like most people, you probably use Illustrator to create illustrations and graphics. But if you’re looking for a way to make a compound clipping mask in Illustrator, there’s a good chance you’ve never heard of it. A compound clipping mask is an editing tool that lets you combine multiple clip masks into one. It’s perfect for creating complex designs or for making changes to individual elements in your illustrations. To create a compound clipping mask in Illustrator, follow these steps:

  1. Open the file that you want to work with. In this case, we’ll be working with an illustration file called “compound_clip_mask.ai.”
  2. Drag the clip masks that you want to combine into the same layer. This will create a new layer called “compound_clip_mask.“3) Choose the " Combine With” button on the left side of the screen. This will add all of the clip masks together into one big block.4) Click on the “Compound Clip Mask” icon at the top of the screen. This will open up a new window where you can see all of the properties of each mask.5) On this window, we’ll need to set some properties before we can start working with our compound clip mask:6) The first property we’ll need to set is its name:7) We’ll name our compound clip mask “Compound Clip Mask 1.“8) Next, we’ll need to set its opacity:9) We’ll set its opacity to 100% so that it’s completely hidden (visible only when clicked).10) Finally, we’ll need to set its shape:11) We’ll choose an oval shape and give it a width of 10px and height of 20px (the size of our image).12) Click on OK and our compound clip mask will be created!
