When you’re playing a game, the sound of the game itself is usually the only thing that’s heard. But sometimes, you might want to hear other sounds as well. For example, if you’re playing a game on your PS4 and there’s a party going on in the background, you might want to hear that too. There are ways to make your game sound come through your headset even when it’s not connected to the PlayStation 4. Here are three tips:
- Use an external speaker If you don’t have an internal speaker in your PS4, then you can use an external one. External speakers work best if they’re big enough so that they can be heard over the noise of your PS4. You can find external speakers for around $30.
- Use voice commands If you have a controller with a microphone, then you can use voice commands to make your games sound louder or softer depending on what kind of game you’re playing. For example, if you want to make your character speak louder in a stealth game, then just say “voice command” and it will do so automatically. If you want to make your character speak softer in a combat game, then just say “voice command” and it will do so automatically without having to worry about it being heard.
- Use surround sound If possible, try using surround sound when playing games on your PS4. This will give each person in the room their own audio experience which is great for hearing things over other noises in the room. You can find surroundsound systems for around $200+.
