In Gimp, there are a few ways to measure something. The most common way is to use the rulers and the grid. To measure in inches, first open the Preferences dialog box by clicking on the Preferences button in the toolbar or by pressing Ctrl+P (Windows) or Command+P (Mac). In the Preferences dialog box, click on the Display tab and select Inches from the Measurement Type drop-down list. Then set your measurement unit to Inches and click OK. To measure in pixels, first open the Preferences dialog box by clicking on the Preferences button in the toolbar or by pressing Ctrl+P (Windows) or Command+P (Mac).
