If you’re like most photographers, your Lightroom catalog is a mess. You have folders for every shoot, and each folder contains dozens of photos. It’s hard to find the photo you’re looking for, and it’s even harder to find photos that you’ve deleted. To make your Lightroom catalog easier to use, follow these tips:
- Create folders based on the type of photo you took. For example, create folders for landscape shots, portraits, food shots, etc. This will make it easier to find the photo you’re looking for.
- Use keywords to help search your catalog more easily. For example, if you’re looking for a portrait shot of a dog, include “dog” in your keyword search terms. This will help you find all photos with that keyword in them.
- Use the “Sort by” menu to organize your photos by date or filename (ascending or descending). This will make it easy to find the photo you’re looking for without having to scroll through dozens of pages of photos! ..
