If you’ve ever tried to share photos with friends or family and had trouble getting them to look their best, you’re not alone. Black bars can crop up in photos no matter how careful you are with your editing, and they can be a real pain to get rid of. Luckily, there’s a quick and easy way to remove black bars from photos in Lightroom, no matter what camera or editing software you’re using. To remove black bars from photos in Lightroom, first make sure that the photo is properly edited. If the photo is unedited, you’ll need to use another editing program to fix the issue. Once the photo is properly edited, open it in Lightroom and select Edit > Remove Black Bars. Lightroom will automatically detect the type of camera used to take the photo and will offer options for removing black bars from photos taken with different cameras. If your photo was taken with a digital camera, Lightroom will offer to remove black bars from JPEGs only; if it was taken with a film camera, it will offer to remove black bars from both JPEGs and RAW files. Once you’ve selected the type of file that your photo was taken in (JPEG or RAW), Lightroom will give you an option to preview how removing black bars will look before actually removing them. Click on Preview To See The Results To make sure that everything looks good before proceeding, click on OK To Remove The Black Bars From The Photo. Now all you have to do is wait for Lightroom to finish removing the black bars from your photo! Depending on how large the black bar was and how many photos were used in its creation, this process may take a few minutes or hours - but once it’s done, your photo should look much better! ..
