If you’re like most parents, you probably don’t want to remove your car seat cover every time you get out of the car. But if your cover is dirty or in need of a cleaning, it’s worth taking the time to remove it. Here’s how:
- Locate the car seat cover release button. It’s usually located on one side or the other of the car seat, near the child’s feet. Push down on the button until it pops out of its socket.
- Gently pull up on one end of the car seat cover until it comes off of the base. Be careful not to rip it! If there are any Velcro straps attached, be sure to unhook them before removing the cover.
- If there are any pockets or compartments on the car seat cover, unzip them and empty their contents onto a clean surface before putting everything back together. Wipe down all surfaces that came in contact with food or drink residue, including the inside of the pockets and compartments.
- Put everything back together in reverse order, making sure that all Velcro straps are properly attached and that there are no loose pieces hanging off of either side of the car seat cover. Push down on the release button until it clicks into place again ..
