Android users have long been able to send text messages over wifi, but the process has always been a bit clunky. With Android Nougat, however, things have gotten a lot easier. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the Messages app on your Android device.
  2. Tap on the three lines in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Select Settings from the menu that pops up.
  4. Under “Wireless & networks,” tap on “Wi-Fi.”
  5. If you’re using a home or office network, you’ll see a list of available networks and be able to select one to connect to (you may need to enter your network’s password). If you’re using public wifi, you’ll see a list of available hotspots and be able to select one to connect to (you may need to enter your hotspot’s password).
  6. Tap on the name of the network you want to use and then tap on “Connect.” You’ll now be connected to that network and can start sending text messages over wifi! ..
