Android users have long been familiar with the annoying habit of their devices automatically downloading apps from the Google Play Store. But what if you don’t want these downloads happening? There are a few ways to disable this feature on Android. The first step is to open the Settings app on your device and navigate to Apps. Here, you’ll see a list of all the apps installed on your device. Tap on an app and then scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Here, you’ll see a button called “Auto-update.” If it’s enabled, tap on it and then disable it by clicking on the switch next to it. If you want to completely stop all app downloads from happening, you can go into your device’s security settings and enable a security measure called “Unknown sources.” This will prevent any apps from being automatically downloaded from outside of Google Play Store.
