When you shoot photos in Lightroom, you can save them as JPEGs or DNGs. DNG files are digital images that have been converted to a format that is more efficient for storage and processing. To save a photo as a DNG, open the photo in Lightroom and click on the File menu and select Save As… . In the Save As dialog box, select the DNG file type and name the file. Click on OK to close the Save As dialog box. When you open a photo that has been saved as a DNG, Lightroom will automatically detect which camera sensor was used to take the photo and will use that sensor’s native resolution for all images in your library.
