When you’re starting out in Illustrator, it’s a good idea to learn how to write horizontally. This will help you create more interesting and organized designs. To start, create a new layer in your document and name it “Horizontal.” Next, add a basic shape to your Horizontal layer: a rectangle. Make sure the rectangle is wide enough to cover the entire bottom of your Horizontal layer and has a long edge. Next, add some text. You can use any type of text you like, but make sure it’s easy to read and doesn’t obscure the other elements on your Horizontal layer. For example, I used this text: (Horizontal) Now that your Horizontal layer is created, it’s time to add some color! Add some black lines around the outside of your rectangle and then add some white lines above and below the black lines. This will help you see what colors are being used on each side of the rectangle. Now that your Horizontal layer is filled with color, it’s time to add some borders! First, add a line around the top edge of your rectangle. Then, add another line around the bottom edge. Finally, add a line between each border line. These borders should be wide enough so that they don’t touch any other elements on your document (except for the Horizontal layer).
