CD Projekt RED has announced that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is now Xbox One backwards compatible. This means that players can now experience the game on their Xbox One consoles, even if they did not own the game when it was originally released. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings was released in 2011 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The game was met with critical acclaim and won several awards including Game of the Year at the 2011 Golden Joystick Awards. However, many players who purchased the game on Xbox 360 did not have access to it when The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released in 2015. This backwards compatibility for The Witcher 2 comes as a welcome surprise for many fans who were disappointed that they could not experience one of CD Projekt RED’s earlier games on their newer console. CD Projekt RED has stated that they are currently working on a patch to add support for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt which should be available soon. ..
