If you’re like most photographers, you probably use Lightroom to edit your photos. But did you know that you can also use it to correct lens errors? In this article, we’ll show you how to do it. First, open up Lightroom and select your photo. If the photo has been edited in another program, like Photoshop or GIMP, Lightroom may not have the correct metadata (information about the photo) to correct lens errors. In that case, we’ll need to fix the metadata first. To do that, go to File > Metadata and click on the Edit button next to the Title field. In the Edit Metadata dialog box, make sure that Title is set to Photo and Description is set to whatever you want it to say (in our example, “Lens Correction in Lightroom”). Click on OK when finished. Now we can start correcting lens errors! To do that, go up to the Lens Corrections panel and click on the Add button. In the Add Lens Correction dialog box, select from one of three correction types: Distortion, Chromatic Aberration (color fringing), or Vignetting (darkening of corners). You can also choose from a variety of correction levels (from mild to extreme). Click on OK when finished. Your corrected photo will now appear in the preview area at the bottom of Lightroom window. If everything looks good and there are no errors remaining, click on Publish button at top right of panel and your corrected photo will be uploaded automatically into your online portfolio or blog! ..
