Rockstar Games, the developers of Grand Theft Auto 4, have not released the game on PlayStation 4 because they do not have the rights to do so. Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), who owns the rights to Grand Theft Auto 4, has not given Rockstar Games permission to release the game on PlayStation 4. Rockstar Games has stated that they are “very disappointed” with Sony’s decision and that they “intend to pursue all available options to get [Grand Theft Auto 4] released on PlayStation 4.” This dispute between Rockstar Games and SCEA is just one example of how video game companies are struggling to keep up with new technology.
